Tagged by Kellie

Kellie tagged me a while ago and I had a hard time coming up with 7 things.

I guess the first would be that I actually dressed up for Halloween. Grandkids can get you to do most any thing. Don't tell them that or I am in real trouble! What Jessica didn't tell you was that Katie was afraid of me when she first came in the house. It took about 10 minutes before she quit hiding behind her mom every time I talked to her. After that we had a great time, and whenever anyone mentioned my red hair she had to tell them it was a wig. Her favorite thing is opening the door for the "customers", more commonly known as Trick or Treaters>

#2 I am paranoid about making people have to wait for me, anywhere, any time for anything. Dan might not agree as there are times on Sunday he has to wait a little. I guess when you've been married 31 years you mellow out together. I really have no problem waiting for others, go figure...
#3 This one makes me very sad, I can't play the piano any more. As soon as the eye's started changing it got harder and harder. Playing the piano in Primary was always my favorite calling.
#4 My least favorite calling is teaching Sunday School, Dan and I are currently teaching the 15-16 year old's. Great, great kids, I'm just not a teacher. I get quite testy when it's my turn to teach, just ask Dan, or any of my kids.
#5. My highest bowling game is a 272.
#6 When my kids were all in school I would always make cookies on rainy days and the first snowstorm of the year. This is one of those good habits that get ingrained in their heads and now they to want to do the same thing.
#7 Dan and I went to Brice Canyon for our honeymoon. We decided to come home a day early thinking that we could just sneak into our apartment and no one would know that we were home. We opened our door and there was my dad cleaning our carpet! Our bed was not moved in yet and couldn't be until the carpet was dry the next day. We spent the last night of our honeymoon sleeping in my parents tent trailer!!
There you have it, the sad part is that as soon as I post this I will think of a million, much more interesting random things...

It's almost over...

After all the chasing around for fall colors I have my own show in my backyard. Every morning I open my blinds to this view.

I just love these trees! Alas, after this weekend they will probably be gone.

Katie keeps asking when she can jump in the leaves, it won't be long, they are falling like crazy today.

A Free Dinner?!

Last Saturday Dan and I invited Kellie and Kane out to dinner. We thought we would go to the new Texas Road House that we knew was having what they called a "soft opening". As we walked up to the door a gal stopped us and asked if we had an invitation. We said no and started to turn around. She said you can still come in we just have to tell you that all the food is free tonight but there is a limited tonight. Please be patient with the help, they are all learning. We also ask that you leave a tip. As Sheryl would say SWEET! We went in and not only was the food free, they kept coming out with samples of different appetisers to try.
When we got home Brent was just getting home and he and Cindy(Brent's girlfriend)had not had dinner so we told them about it and they went too. Good food and free, you can't beat that!!

Some Halloween Fun

Friday afternoon Jessica was on her little spa trip in Park City and Kaylan was busy at work so I got a few hours with Bradley and Katie. I needed to go to Target so we wasted some time in the Halloween section. Katie surprised me by trying on some masks (while wearing pajama's). It was so funny I couldn't resist taking pictures.

Say hello to Hillary...

and this scary babe!

P.S. Thanks to all of you for your love and support for Kellie & Kane.

I'M SO EXCITED!

Dan got home last night and told me we were invited on a vendor Maverik trip this January to Puerto Rico!!! The last several years the trip was to Hawaii, that would have been great, but I will take a trip anywhere! Can't wait till January...just had to share and maybe make you all a little jealous.

Halloweeeeeeen

We use our ginger bread houses at Halloween as well as Christmas. Sunday Katie and Bradley made there Halloween houses. Here is some of our fun.

I like this picture because not only is she licking and enjoying the chocolate frosting but the picture looks like she is wearing it!

This is how it began...

It's not fun if you don't lick a little more...

Ta Da! We didn't' think she would ever finish piling on the candy....

Bradley was very meticulous this year and the results were impressive.

The finished Product.

Very simple, not over stated.

A walk Through Muller Park

Since I didn't see all the color I expected in Southern Utah, Thursday I went to Muller Park. I try to go every year. I usually get there just past prime so the Mountain is beautiful but the walk through the park not so much so. This time was just the opposite, the walk was fantastic. I have never seen so many reds and pinks. The only downer was that it was overcast most of the time which makes pictures a little harder.

I had some fun with these pictures. The picture wasn't great but the colors were so I tried some special effects.

The really sad thing is when Dan looked at these pictures they were bland to him. The yellows are the brightest to him and they were not out yet. Being color blind is really sad, I can't wait to see the look on his and Jessica's face when they get to the next life and they can SEE!!

A Short Getaway

Dan and I decided to get away for a couple of days. We headed south on Monday and stopped at Cedar Breaks. I had heard how beautiful it is there in the fall. The ride up the canyon was nice with green and yellow trees. What we didn't know is that Cedar Breaks really doesn't have a lot of color, at least the kind we thought we were going to see.

It's more like a mini Bryce Canyon and it was COLD. It was really nice, just not what we expected. Here are a couple of my favorite pictures.

We went on to St. George and had a wonderful Olive Garden dinner and spent the night there. (in St. George not the Olive Garden).Tuesday morning we went to Snow Canyon to do a couple of hikes, walks really. The first one had markers along the way that taught us about the plants. Of course I don't remember anything but it was fun. So don't ask me anything about these plants I just like the picture.

Then we went to the spot where some names were written in the rocks with axle grease, dating back a ways. You will notice that someone more recently had to add their names. I said something about them being jerks, Dan had the thought that just because the first names are 100 years old we think it's okay, but when someone does it today they are jerks. Made me thing twice!

Now comes the cool part. We found a little slot canyon named after Jen and Denice! Check it out!

Did you notice the part about "free spirits" ? Jen and Denice are famous!?

That afternoon we also checked out Kolob Canyon, another place we had not been to. Again not knowing at all what we would see there. Surprise!! More Rocks, maybe the biggest I have ever seen. You will notice a lovely picture of Dan and I, the first picture I have had taken wearing glasses. Hummmm, GETTING OLD SUCKS! The next picture is the view to the right of where we are sanding and the next one is to the left. The next is a picture of my favorite rock.

After staying the night in Cedar City we headed to the last place on my agenda. Wasatch State Park Golf Course. Again, a lot of people, my husband being one of them, have told me what a beautiful course it is and that it is particularly so in the fall. This time I was not disappointed, except for maybe my golf game. It was really fun to get away, I hope we do it more often!

Our Ride on the Legacy Park Bike Trail

Here we are on the Glover's Lane Pedestrian Walkway. After riding from home to Glover's Lane we are ready to begin...we will be riding South.

This is looking south from th top of Glover's Lane, they have done a good job of making everything look nice.

This is the view from the pedestrian walkway, looking north into Farmington. You can see the bike trail on the left extending north.

A beautiful view as you ride along. We had a mixed bag of weather that morning.

There are a few of these fun wooden bridges to get you over the spots of water.

We thought for sure we would be dumped on but we weren't. This is looking to the East, I really like this picture, not bad for taking it while riding!

This is the On Ramp in Centerville.

This tunnel goes right under the Parkway. Here is where we switch from the road being on the East to the West.

There are several places like this along the Trail where you can park you car and grab your bike. If I am ever going to do the whole trail in one ride I'm sure that's what I'll have to do. Getting old sucks! That brings us to pages Lane and the end of the trail for now. There are a lot of nice landscape features to the north and the south of where we rode. I'm looking forward to this saturday to hopefully do another part. It was a lot more relaxing before it was open and we had it to ourselves!
