It's more like a mini Bryce Canyon and it was COLD. It was really nice, just not what we expected. Here are a couple of my favorite pictures.
We went on to St. George and had a wonderful Olive Garden dinner and spent the night there. (in St. George not the Olive Garden).Tuesday morning we went to Snow Canyon to do a couple of hikes, walks really. The first one had markers along the way that taught us about the plants. Of course I don't remember anything but it was fun. So don't ask me anything about these plants I just like the picture.
Then we went to the spot where some names were written in the rocks with axle grease, dating back a ways. You will notice that someone more recently had to add their names. I said something about them being jerks, Dan had the thought that just because the first names are 100 years old we think it's okay, but when someone does it today they are jerks. Made me thing twice!
Now comes the cool part. We found a little slot canyon named after Jen and Denice! Check it out!
Did you notice the part about "free spirits" ? Jen and Denice are famous!?
That afternoon we also checked out Kolob Canyon, another place we had not been to. Again not knowing at all what we would see there. Surprise!! More Rocks, maybe the biggest I have ever seen. You will notice a lovely picture of Dan and I, the first picture I have had taken wearing glasses. Hummmm, GETTING OLD SUCKS! The next picture is the view to the right of where we are sanding and the next one is to the left. The next is a picture of my favorite rock.
After staying the night in Cedar City we headed to the last place on my agenda. Wasatch State Park Golf Course. Again, a lot of people, my husband being one of them, have told me what a beautiful course it is and that it is particularly so in the fall. This time I was not disappointed, except for maybe my golf game. It was really fun to get away, I hope we do it more often!

Loved the rocks! Getting away is always fabulous. We keep hearing how beautiful the drive from here to New York is in the fall so we can't wait for the leaves to start changing to do the drive. So far they are all still green with a very few starting to turn yellow.
Thank you for the wonderful tour of your tour. And, I am glad that just the two of you got away for a couple of days. You do need to that more often. And, I must say that you both look pretty fabulous in the picture.
Im glad you guys got away. You deserve it after all you do for us!
Well, at least you got to see some colorful rocks, if not a lot of colorful leaves.
It is nice to know that I have a canyon named after me. I do love exploring canyons.
How fun! It was good seeing you at Dicks Market today!
Hey Murray's! I check out your blog every so often from Jessie's. Hope you don't mind! Looks like you guys had a fun little getaway! You were down here in our neck of the woods! Should have stopped by to say hello! Maybe next time huh?! Looks like it was a good little getaway for some Dan & Julie time! :) Get me your email address and I'll send you an invite to our blog if you want one (thebarlows99@hotmail.com)
The pictures are beautiful and it looks like you had a great time.
I love the area around Cedar City. We did a bike rally up there a couple of years in a row, and it was always breath taking scenery.
If the whole golf course is as pretty as the picture, it is fabulous!
