Update on Grandpa Murray

Dan and I are heading to Puerto Rico so I thought would give you an update. Jess is still in the ICU at the U. they were hoping to move him to South Davis this week but he had a couple of setbacks. He had another small heart issue and now has a drain in his colon. By the way they did end up doing the tracheotomy last Saturday. If all goes well this week end they hope to move him on Monday. It would be nice to have him closer to home. Breathing is still the main problem. Even though he hasn't smoked in 30 years, 30 years of smoking has has done permanent damage. He seems to be pretty sick of the whole think and tired of not being able to communicate. I told Dan that when we are old and in the hospital our lungs will probably be fine but they will be draining chocolate out of us! Love you all...Julie

I hope Jess improves. The communicating scares me. That is what happened to my dad. He could only sat one or two words at a time. He was so frustrated. I'm not sure he is in too good of condition at this point. It is still frightening.
And, Oh yes, they will defintely be draining chocolate out of all of us, and Dan may have a little coconut also! Have a very fun trip....

It sounds miserable, I can only imagine how frustrating that would be.

Can't wait to see some pics from your vacation, live it up for all of us still stuck in winter wonderland.

I am crossing my fingers for Jess. I hope everything goes well. And enjoy your vacation! I am jealous. I don't appreciate the cold.

Well, that is a bit frustrating that they had to delay moving him closer to home. We will hope that it happens this week.

Have a great trip. Even those of us not stuck in a winter wonderland are envious of that!

I'm afraid that when I am old they will be draining chocolate out of me as well.

I hope that you have a great time on your vacation, and that you return to find him improved and closer to home.

Oh no I'll have to go to the hospital by myself while you and dad are gone! Its kinda hard to know what to say to someone who can't respond at all. But thank dad for taking me the other day and have fun on the vacation.
