Will "Golf Fever" Pass on to the Next Generation?

It has been a crazy summer so far but I think things are slowing down now other then Kaylan is heading to Colorado next month for work so I will have Katie and Bradley more. But that is not what this post is about, we will get to that later. This is all about Bradley!
Grandpa Dan bought Bradley his own set of golf clubs. He has to have his own since he is the only Lefty in the family. I think maybe Grandpa is trying to stock pile golf partners so he will always have someone to go with.

After a few swings and misses Bradley told me that it's a lot easier to golf when it's a game like the WII. He never got frustrated but was surprised that it was so hard.



Here he is swinging quite like a pro. He didn't want to keep figuring out the grip so I kept teeing up the balls for him and he would hit them.

Brent and Sarah joined us and we played a round. Bradley hit now and then and putted. He was also all to happy to drive Brent around the course. Brent enjoyed it to except when Bradley drove right over his ball...oooops!

What a Vacation...let's go again!

We found out that we have our own intersection in New York! Who knew! Too bad we were on a bus tour and couldn'get a family picture. At least we got a picture of the sign for proof.

It just wouldn't be a trip to New York without seeing the statue of Liberty! It was awesone to see, notice how tiny the people look who have climbed to the base look. I hope Jessica gets the chance some time to go to the top, it' the only thing she wanted to do.

A view of the skyline from across the bay. The buildings were all so amazing. You just had to look up and up. I think we did every thing they tell you not to do so you don't look like a tourest. WE ARE TOURESTS AND WE DON'T CARE IF WE LOOK THE PART! There is so much to see and do in New York it's a bit over wheling. We had a great time. It was also fun on Sunday and one rainy evening to get together in our room, eat New York style pizza and play games. Our only regret was that Kaylan and Kane could not join us. We missed them and look forward in 2 years for hopefully another trip that will work out for all.

After visiting the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and having some lunch the crew returns to the boat for the return trip.

How do you measure who had the best time on a trip. If you say that the person that gained the most weight had the most fun then it seems that Brent had the most fun! He says that he gained 10 pounds! How can that be? Look at this picture, he is even sharing with Sarah!!



Jerry Seinfeld lives in this building the 2nd peak from the left. actually it is also the 2nd peak from the right as well! I guess we could say the middle too. Sarah and Brent are big fans. They wanted to do all things Jerry Seinfeld. Sarah did buy the Black and White cookies they talk about on the show to share with friends. She said they were yummy!

Here are Brent and Cindy on the Brooklyn Bridge. We walked Half way up, took pictures and then came back. That after walking forever just to get on the bridge. If memory serves I think this is the only bridge made for walking, bikes and cars. Can I just say here that I felt parts of my legs and hips that I have never felt before, by Friday I didn't think I could walk any more!

We found the Manhattan Temple, they let us go in and see the stained glass doors. We also went up to the business floor and visited with one of the senior missionaries. It was very nice on the inside. The outside blended in with the other buildings other than on the front was "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints". Saturday Mornings are apparently their busiest times. I'd like to go into the building next door and see Angel Moroni staring back at me.

Jessica mentioned how Broadway had shut down the street, here is a picture of it with people relaxing and hanging out.

This was another street that was blocked off with chairs to relax in. A great place to people watch. While we were sitting there it was raining so we didn't stay too long. The number of taxi's in the city is nuts. I don't remember the number so any of my family that does can share that info.


Who can pass up a 3 story M&M Store? Especially one with a big screen and a M&M guy on the Empire State Building! I actually don't eat as many as i used to but I did buy some cute M&M place mats.



The girls got in a little shopping, Sarah and Kellie got some fun things at this "Strawberry" Store. You can't so to New York and not shop for heavens sake!! We also checked out the worlds largest store...Macy's, where Katie scored the most with a dress from her mom and a cute embroidered blouse from grandpa.




This is the "Wicked" group, Jessica and her kids already have the sound track memorized!

The Newest Graduate

Here he is the latest graduate in the Murray family!!!
Brent Graduated last Friday with a Bachelor's of Science from the U of U. (Brent correct me if I'm wrong) We are very proud of all the hard work that Brent has put in to get this far. He has been accepted into the Masters program and he and Sarah should both get their Masters Degrees in two years!
Personaly I think he's pretty cute in a cap and gown.

This is Cindy's mom and dad and sister, Joni. She and Brent have been in the architecture program together.

Happy Birthday to Joyce!

Joyce' birthday was on the first... and that is not an April fools joke! We hope she had a happy day! Not knowing what to get Joyce for you birthday Cynthia and I decided to prepare and join her for dinner this Sunday, April 5th., at about 4:00-4:30. We would love to have as many as can come and join us. If you can come please let me or Cynthia know. Hope to see you all!

Just kidding...I guess, who really knows?

If I ever need to be hospitalized please, please don't take me to the U. Doris was supposed to have her surgery last night at 9:00. They changed it to 8:00 a.m. and told Dan that if he was here by 10:00 that would be about when she would be back in her room. When he got there she hadn't had the surgery yet. Then they bring her some food and the family says she can't have food, she is going to surgery. Then they are informed that she is not having surgery, they decided what they saw on the ex ray is an old fracture so she does not have a broken hip! She is feeling quite well and will have a few more tests & will be home in a couple of days, mind you they still don't know what is causing the black outs. Of the 3 experiences we have had at that hospital none have been very good or impressive.

The Fun (?) continues...

Sunday after church Doris drove over to our house for dinner. She came in and we said our Hello's. Doris picked up a picture from the end table to look at it. Next thing I know I hear a big thud and Kane yelling for a towel. Kellie was the only one to see it happen, Doris' eyes glazed, and legs going out from under her. She fell on to our hardwood floor. The fall woke her up, she was bleeding pretty good from a cut near her eyebrow. She didn't know what had happened. As soon as she fell, Kane had Kellie call 911. When the paramedics came she was phasing out again, they gave her oxygen and that helped. She was taken to Lakeview Hospital for a few tests and then transferred to the U for a Neurological exam. We were all so happy to be done going to the U as Jess was transferred to South Davis Medical center a couple of weeks ago. He is still about the same, not much change there. Anyway we are now visiting 2 hospitals.

Doris had a similar incident a few weeks ago with Dan at Costco. They were waiting for a prescription, her eyes glazed and her body lightly trembling. At least she was sitting down that time. She will be having surgery for a broken hip tonight which I assume will be followed by Physichal Therapy.

Maybe Jess and Doris can be roommates after her surgery!!

A day of Doctors

With a family vacation to New York coming up in two months I decided it was time to get rid of an ingrown toenail I have had for years. I went to the podiatrist yesterday morning and an hour later the problem was fixed. I have a big old bandage on my toe that can't get wet for 2 days and some cream to be applied once a day. Not bad, why didn't I do it sooner you might ask. Because the older I get the more chicken I get. I did forget about the corn on the other foot so when I go back I hope to remember to have that removed as well. Then I can walk around New York pain free!!! A few hours later I was at the Eye Doctor. I also decided that I wanted to try contacts. I wore them for about 4 hours and they were fine. However they are not bifocals and I still need reading glasses. I'm not real thrilled with that. I go back in a week and I think I would like to try the bifocal ones. The big est problem is the dry eye. At times my eye's water and I can't see, it drives me crazy, sometimes it runs right down my face. Hopefully the contacts keep the water in my eye better. It took me some time to get the contact's out and just as I got the last one out Brent called and had sliced his finger with a kitchen knife. It was bleeding pretty good. He wanted to know where the closest place was to go for stitches. I was a bit nervous as he sounded like he was a bit woozy. I offered to take him some were but luckily Cindy got home and took care of him. Nine stitches later they were enjoying themselves at the Jazz game. GO JAZZIf things come in 3's as least we should be done with Dr. visits.
